DAMA Foundation BiographiesDeborah Henderson is a data management professional with significant experience in data architecture & data governance, master data management strategy, business requirements analysis, project management, data warehousing, executive information systems/decision support systems, metadata repository design. She also has extensive background in information leadership (standard process strategy and execution to budget and quality). She consults to many different business functions using the techniques of data and process modelling, requirements analysis and solution design. Over 28 years of experience in corporate and consulting environments, and an accomplished speaker, over 18 years in data modelling including standards and quality assurance. She envisioned, sponsored and project managed the DAMA-DMBOK (Data Management Body of Knowledge) Project 2005-2009, and the DAMA Dictionary of Data Management. Deborah is also Managing Principal of DA Henderson Consulting Ltd.
Ingrid Batiste Hunt brings seventeen years of information technology, entrepreneurship and engineering consulting practice with a wide industry expertise and knowledge to DAMA International and Foundation. As a Software Engineer directly out of college, she implemented standard technology practices for many government, state and local projects. Ingrid has maintained a consistent focus on information technology and market development, as well as business development and market expansion. Her technical, alliance and marketing strategy and implementation techniques, has and will continue to be a unique character asset for the association. She currently holds international and local board positions within the DAMA International and Foundation, as well as other Technology and Non-Profit Education sectors. Ingrid holds a BS in Computer Engineering and is currently an MBA candidate. She is the COO of a consulting IT practice and co-founder of e-Modelers, Inc. Dr. Terry Halpin, BSc, DipEd, BA, MLitStud, PhD, is Distinguished Professor and Vice President (Conceptual Modeling) at Neumont University. After many years in academia, he worked on data modeling technology at Asymetrix Corporation, InfoModelers Inc., Visio Corporation, and Microsoft Corporation, before returning to academia to develop data models and curricula to facilitate application development using a business rules approach to informatics. His research focuses on conceptual modeling and conceptual query technology. His doctoral thesis formalized Object-Role Modeling (ORM/NIAM). He has authored over 100 technical publications and five books, including Information Modeling and Relational Databases (2001: Morgan Kaufmann), and Database Modeling with Microsoft? Visio for Enterprise Architects (2003: Morgan Kaufmann).
Mr. Brackett has been associated with DAMA for the past 24 years. He was a charter member of the Seattle Chapter in 1984, saw the formation of DAMA National in 1986, and the formation of DAMA International in 1988. He joined the DAMA International Board in 1996 as VP Conference services where he changed from Chapter sponsored Conferences to a conference service provider and established the DAMA International Europe Conference. He became President of DAMA International in 2000 and moved to Past President in 2004. He established the DAMA International Foundation in 2004 and served as their first President. He is currently serving as Past President of the Foundation. He received the DAMA International Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. Mr. Brackett runs his own consulting business and is a Consulting Data Architect specializing in developing high-quality integrated data resources for public and private sector organizations. He has written six books and numerous articles on data resource management. He is a prominent speaker at local, national, and international conferences. Gil Laware is a managing principal of Information By Design (IBD) company that provides CIO and other information technology services for various midwest companies. Formerly an Associate Professor of Computer and Information Technology in the College of Technology at Purdue University, he taught multiple systems and technology courses. Prior to joining the Purdue faculty, he was an Associate Director for Fujitsu Consulting, Manager of Data Services for the Whirlpool Corporation, vice-president of Information Resources for Franklin Savings Bank and held various managerial and consultative roles with the IBM Corporation. Currently, he serves as the VP of Operations and Research for the DAMA Foundation, served as the VP of Operations on DAMA International’s Board and co-founded the DAMA Kansas City Chapter. He has written a number of papers and presented at different DAMA conferences on information and data management topics. He holds MBA degrees from Iona College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Currently VP Marketing with DAMA International this is a cross appointment to the DAMA FOundation Board for Lisa. She is currently working with Framers Insurance in Michigan. Experience in Administrative and Software Support of an internal Marketing IT support team, and with the monitoring of licensing and chargeback Content Management, Intranet & Extranet sites, familiar with the co-ordination of electronic communications and social networks. Grant writing familiarity and currently a board member with non-profits locally in Michigan.
