DMBoK v2x Initiative
One of DAMA’s key assets is the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK2). Today in its second version and available in 6 different languages, the DMBoK2 is widely recognised as the framework of reference by many Data Management practitioners in various industries and sectors; however, we do not want to be complacent and need to plan for the future. As any other product, the DMBoK2 has a lifecycle which needs to be managed to ensure adherence to the current and emerging challenges and DAMA-I has therefore decided to undertake a process to refresh and improve the current version, ensuring enhanced consistency within itself and with the Dictionary.
To undertake this initiative, DAMA-I will convene a Review Panel, made up of industry professionals appointed by DAMA, which will review, correct and provide the necessary and appropriate amendments, corrections and inputs.
There is an urgent need to work immediately with reliable and consistent contents and we are aware of a few shortcomings and inconsistencies in the DMBoK2 and are seeking to make a point “maintenance release”.
For this reason, DAMA-I, has already started working on the first activity of this demanding project, the launch of the DMBoK2.X.
What is DMBoK2.X?
DMBoK2.X is a maintenance update version that will address known inconsistencies. We are aware that only by working together can we achieve "DMBoK 2.X" and we are here to invite you to be part of this project.
This is an open call to you to help us by indicating errors, misprints, or inconsistencies in the DMBoK.2 (English version) that you have detected while reading, studying and working. This is NOT a wholesale change to the DMBoK I.e. it’s not V3, that will come later).
